If you are looking for something fun to do this Summer with the family, definitely check out Pallman farms in South Abington and pick some strawberries! We went this week and the strawberries were gorgeous. The kids picked two big buckets, then we grabbed some local honey and fruit from the market, some strawberry smoothies and soft pretzels and had lunch at the farm.
We got our own row to pick from! We seemed to get there at a crowded time, around noon, but once you get out into the field everyone is really spaced out.
We picked a lot of strawberries- about 1/4 of them went onto Guy’s birthday cake a bowl of super rip ones went into the fridge, and the rest into the freezer. I’m thinking smoothies or muffins, YUM (well for everyone else but me because, fun fact, I am really allergic to strawberries LOL)
The market that is covered and open air had fresh fruits and veggies, a spot to grab local honey, fresh strawberry smoothies or strawberry lemonade, and snacks of popcorn and soft pretzels. Perfect for grabbing and taking to one of their shaded picnic tables for a light lunch before heading back home.
This local honey from Murphy’s Honey Bee Farm is SOOOOOO delicious. We got the Fall harvest because I was feeling the darker honey flavor, but they also had the lighter Summer harvest available.
And teaser trailer, this is the cake we made for Guy’s birthday with a lot of the strawberries we picked- I’ll post the recipe for that here later this week ( I think it’s safe to say it was good…there was not one tiny crumb left!)
